What to know about HHS

With each new school year, Hartselle High School receives new teachers, new students, new lunches, and new clubs, but always keeps the same exciting energy. HHS has a powerful ability to keep the students involved so that they enjoy the school day. There are so many different aspects to the school that add variety to the normal routine of seven fifty-five minute classes per day. HHS provides so many other features for the faculty and student body.

This year, Hartselle City Schools has partnered with Pizza Hut to bring a new lunch option for students. The pizza will be available during select days as an entree for the 2019-2020 school year. Purchasing a Pizza Hut lunch does not have any additional costs if a student buys Pizza Hut pizza. It costs $2.35 for the elementary, intermediate, and junior high schools, and it costs $2.60 for the high school.

The previous bell schedules have included block periods. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, the students would only go to a few of their classes each day. To begin one of the days, there was an Academic Enrichment period, or AE period, where the students had time to receive extra help in their classes or the students could attend different club meetings. This year, the bell schedule does not include block periods. The bells just keeps a straight seven period schedule all day long. The only students that are not at school all day are the ones that work and have a Co-op working period or have a class that requires them to leave campus.

The HHS coffee shop is located inside of the library. Most students know about it, but for those that do not know, you can buy many different types of snacks and drinks for a very good price. The snacks are always fresh and taste amazing! When looking into the coffee house, there are many different flavors of slushies on the side. Many people visit to get colorful slushies and to see Mrs. Emerson’s sweet and smiling face.
