Updated: Oct 21, 2019

During the homecoming pep rally Aug. 4, Hartselle High crowned its 2019 Homecoming King Seth McKee. Every organization in the school nominated a senior male to represent themselves. These nominees hosted unique fundraisers to raise money for the school. The nominee who raised the most money, McKee, was crowned as the 2019 Homecoming King. McKee and the king nominees raised $17,760.64 for HHS.

McKee and the other nominees raised over $17,000 for HHS.

The organizations and clubs decorated collection buckets for their nominee. These creative buckets sat in front of the auditorium during the homecoming kickoff and throughout the week for people to donate. Nominees sold popsicles, popcorn, chips, and various snacks for students to buy during school. McKee, nominated by the HHS Softball team, sold Chick-Fil-A and other goodies at the Powder Puff game. Jackson Boyer, the Varsity Cheerleaders’ nominee, hosted a Don Alejo spirit night. Students and members of the community gathered at the restaurant to support HHS and the cheer team.

Principal Brad Cooper announced the results of the week’s activities during the pep rally. David Orr, nominated by Mu Alpha Theta, placed in third. Bryce Balch landed in second, and Seth McKee won first, becoming the 2019 Homecoming King. McKee crowned the Homecoming Queen Maddie Ferguson at halftime during the homecoming game.
