Hartselle Launches into Homecoming Week

Hartselle High School began its Homecoming Week Monday Sep 30, but students have already consumed hours practicing and preparing for the hectic, spirit-filled week.

After winning Homecoming their junior year, the seniors hope to win hoco for the second time. Class Vice President Katie Harris said, “I am most excited for working on the float with my class for the last time.” The class has been extremely successful in their past skits and floats. For their final homecoming, Harris hopes the class improves participation and retains their competitiveness, all with a positive outlook.

The Class of 2021 has struggled during the past two homecomings, but this year, the entire class is motivated to do whatever it takes to win. President Turner Fentress said, “I hope to improve the class unity and relationships.” She also hopes to keep the same creativity from last year. The class desires high dress up day participation, just as they did the past few years.

After creating what some described as the best Freshman float, the sophomores are putting all their effort into winning Homecoming Week by practicing for the skit and planning out their float. Sophomore Class President Eli Terry said, “We hope to keep the class participation the same or higher.” They plan to improve their dress up day participation and clean up the skit.

Freshman Class President Alison Hill hopes to see her entire class come together and accomplish their goals for their first homecoming week. The Class of 2023 must hurdle the many obstacles Freshmen experience annually. To combat these issues, the class hosted practices weeks in advance and brainstormed ideas for the float.

Homecoming events will begin Monday night and continue throughout the week. The week is sure to bring unity to each class and HHS. Go Tigers!
