After what seemed like forever, football season is now upon us. I sat down with the new coach of the Hartselle Tigers, Coach Bo Culver, to talk about his goals for the upcoming season. He was obviously very excited coming into the new season. He has an intelligence about him and kindness seems to radiate off of him. This Spring he got acquainted with his team and started learning about the play styles and attributes of his players. He stated the team is full of “great young men” with “great work ethic”. He specifically gave credit to his offensive line and “linebacker core”. He was specifically impressed with the ability of the offensive line to be able to shift positions and adapt to new ideas and philosophies. On the defensive side of the ball, he mentioned the linebackers who he suggested with great belief, are “going to do a really good job.” Focusing on our school and why he chose to come to Hartselle, he expressed his love of the “tradition and culture here.” He notes that Hartselle is “known for great athletic tradition.” No citizen of Hartselle will be a critic of such a statement. Culver went on to say Hartselle is “academically second to none”. He ended the interview contains the atmosphere his family was looking for. It is clear that Culver is a down to Earth, humble man who is not ashamed of his faith. He is extremely excited over the upcoming season and that rubbed off on me. He seems like the perfect coach to carry Hartselle into the next phase of our legacy. Now we all, as a school and as a city, hope that his aspirations and goals will rub off on the players and the fans. I hope to see you at the football games and, of course, Go Tigers!
Welcome Coach Culver
