There are many different activities and events taking place this fall. In North Alabama, there are multiple types of events for people with different interests. From concerts and parties to pumpkin patches and festivals, there is an event for every age group. Some companies even sponsor events for the pets of the house! People can easily escape their boredom because there are so many things to do around the community this fall.
One of the most popular places to go during the fall is a pumpkin patch. Whether it is a little kid running around or an adult relaxing and watching his or her child play, the entire family will have some entertainment. The Great Pumpkin Patch is located in Harvest, AL and this farm contains numerous activities. The farm offers inflatables, hayrides, pony rides, extreme bungee jumping, a hay pyramid, live entertainment, and amazing food. Admission to this pumpkin patch is free; however, individual activities must be paid for. The costs vary from $1 to $10. Another considerable pumpkin patch is the 4D Family Farm in Cullman, AL. They charge admission at the front gate that ranges from $7.95 to $14.95. They provide a pillow bouncer, multiple slides, hayrides, ziplines, and many more enjoyable activities around the farm. There are many different pumpkin patches around North Alabama this fall, so be sure to go visit one with friends or family.
The pets cannot be left out of the holiday celebrations! This year, Petz Pack, Rocket 95.1 radio station, and the American Cancer Society have teamed up to bring the 5th annual Barks and Boo’s event. On October 12, this dog-friendly event will he held in Big Spring Park in Huntsville. Dogs and their owners will be strolling through the park between 1 and 4 p.m. There will be costume contests, many games for different types and breeds of dogs, and much more. Some of the activities prepared for the fuzzy pets to take a part in are bobbing for hot dogs, treat stacking, a cup game, puppy cake walk, ball catch, and being dog trick “experts.” This event helps to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life of Huntsville.
Festivals are a common thing to bring people together to try new things. This year, Decatur is trying its very own new event. Point Mallard Park is hosting Decatur’s first Fall Festival in their pavilion on Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. There will be shops, carnival games, a selfie scavenger hunt, Carolina Reaper challenge, a pet parade and costume contest, and a pumpkin carving contest.
Churches all around the county organize their own fall festivals. East Highland Baptist Church, West Hartselle Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, Fairview: The Grace Place, Hartselle Church of Christ, and many other churches around the community all host harvest festivals for kids and families to attend. As fall continues, remember all of the different events taking place. There are many different entertainment options for all.
