Diving into Depot Days

Every year on the third Saturday of September, businesses set out their tents and local town members save their money for an exciting day of shopping, games and food in downtown Hartselle. The festival started out as a contribution to the railroad industry and has been a town tradition ever since.

This year on Sept. 16, 2023, Main Street Hartselle will be celebrating this event starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.

This year's food vendors are limited but very diverse with popular places like Warehouse Coffee (already on Main street) and King Crunchies, as well as lesser known but just as tasty places like Kool Breeze (a family owned ice cream truck) and Food Junkies with popular fair-fan-favorites. Keep a look out for deals and sales by the boutiques and restaurants already on Main Street who join the celebration each year.

Hartselle takes this opportunity to not only showcase the stores, boutiques and restaurants, but to also feature the smaller businesses and give each and every person the ability to sell from their own booths.

With volunteer students from Hartselle High School, and parents, family and friends helping contribute, whether that’s helping people set their booths up or having their work showcased in the annual Depot Days art show, it gives the Hartselle community a sense of family and pride for the city.

Depot Days is a treasured tradition and will continue for many years to come. As Main Street transforms into what the town knows as a sacred Hartselle tradition, take the time to appreciate all the hard work and history it holds.
