Running deep into the roots of the United States is the flowing blood of the Kennedy family, whose history is riddled with the dark past of the nation. In 1961, John F. Kennedy became the youngest president to ever enter office and used his influence to seek out liberty and tranquility amongst all of America. However, JFK’s reign of freedom came to a sudden halt on Nov. 22, 1963, when he was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald.
Robert F. Kennedy Sr. would eventually claim his run for presidency in hopes of fulfilling his brother’s wishes of prosperity throughout the nation by advocating for civil rights. That was until June 6, 1968, when a terrorist would take the life of the second Kennedy.
In recent news, RFK Jr. has announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election. His campaign seems to have a dark cloud looming over it, as he has made bold statements about the CIA and JFK, drawing media attention to the job that his uncle never finished. However, as he held a rally at a theater in Las Vegas, he was approached by a man with shoulder holsters who was impersonating RFK Jr’s security. The situation was immediately dealt with, as the man was arrested on several different charges.
RFK Jr. went to X to speak on the incident, asking that President Joe Biden grant him secret service protection, but his requests were denied. This is irregular and irresponsible, as many candidates have been given protection upon requesting it. This leads many to believe that President Biden does not want to acknowledge someone in the democratic party running against him and by granting RFK Jr. protection, he would only be validating his candidacy.
